Kathmandu Airport Operation Notice

Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport will close from 01st April 2019 from 10pm to 8.30am daily for runway maintenance work.  It is expected that this closure will be for a period of 3 months.

 

International and Domestic flight schedules during that time frame are likely to be re-scheduled.  Please contact our office or your airline representative.

 

Trekkers flying to Lukla airport the gateway of Mount Everest trek will be re-directed to fly from Manthali airstrip in Ramechap a distance of 150kms east of Kathmandu.  The driving time from Kathmandu to Manthali is approximately 5hrs one way.  Since all flights to Lukla originate at the early hours, clients need to travel a day in advance or leave early morning from Kathmandu.  Please check with our office for further information and details regarding possible stay at Ramechap and transfers from and to Kathmandu.
