Taj Mahal reopened on 16 June 2021

The Taj Mahal reopened on 16 June 2021 to public after the current lockdown with a cap of 650 daily visitors. The monument normally attracts 7 million to 8 million visitors annually, or over 20,000 people per day. This magnificent and beautifull monument to love had been closed in the wake of the pandemic.

Visitors have to follow all health guidelines observing social distancing and hand sanitizating. Masks are mandatory to enter the monuments and all tickets are purchased online as no in person ticket counters are open.

As regular international travel has not resumed to India at this time, the monument will see domestic visitors. The second most popular site the Agra Fort gets 3 million visitors a year.

While the Taj Mahal will remain closed on Fridays and Sundays, Agra Fort will remain shut on Sundays.

As of 17 June 2021, overseas tourists are not yet allowed to India, please contact our office for updates.
