Glimpses of Bangladesh

Glimpses of Bangladesh tour visits Dhaka the capital city, Paharpur the single biggest Buddhist monument, Mohastangarh the metropolis of 4 century B.C, Puthia Temple city of Bangladesh and River Cruise on the mighty river Yamuna.

 

Day 01: Arrival to Dhaka
Arrive Dhaka Airport & transfer to hotel for overnight at Dhaka. (if time permit you can enjoy Dhaka city tour).

 

Day 02: Dhaka  to Bogra via Jamuna bridge & Puthia
8 am pick up and drive to Bogra. Enroute stop on the bank of mighty river Jamuna & enjoy 1hr. river cruise.  Cross Jamuna Bridge (4.8 km), visit Puthia, the Temple city.  This charming little town is famous for its historic & well decorated Hindu temples and the imposing Zamindar’s Palace, a fine example of a Hindu Rajbari. These estate country houses were built by the landowning Hindu elite during the British Colonial era with their eclectic mix of architectural styles from Greek to Victorian, reflected the cosmopolitan ideas of their owners. Continue journey to Bogra & check in hotel, in Bogra for overnight stay.

 

Day 03: Bogra visit Paharpur & Mohastangarh
After breakfast drive 2 hrs to Paharpur, designated UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.  Visit ruins of Paharpur Vihara, the most important & largest known monastery south of himalaya, built between 7 century and 3rd part of 8 century.


Return to hotel for afternoon checkout. Visit Mohasthangarh an ancient fortified city acclaimed as the oldest settlement and most prominent archaeological site of Bangladesh. The oldest layer dates back to 4 century B.C. The ancient Pundranagara, the capital of Emperor Chandragupta, the founder of Maurya dynasty. Overnight stay, hotel in Bogra.

 

Day 04:Bogra to Dhaka Airport:
After breakfast drive (5 hrs.) back to Dhaka. Enroute visit the National Monument at Savar. Transfer to Airport stand and proceed for onward journey.
