Trip Grade:
Day 1: Arrive Port Blair
Pick up from Port Blair airport in the morning and transfer to hotel. After lunch proceed to the nearest beach (9 km) from Port Blair. The crescent-shaped Corbyns Cove is ideal for swimming. In the evening attend the Sound and Light Show at Cellular Jail. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Port Blair
After breakfast visit the pre-Independence administrative capital, from where the British governed the entire Andaman and Nicobar Islands – Ross Island, a destination for nature walks amidst friendly deer and peacocks; Smritika Museum records the life of the island’s political prisoners; go on an excursion to North Bay (Coral Island) with a glass-bottomed boat ride and snorkelling to explore the coral reefs underneath; And while cruising the harbour, visit Viper Island, named after a British shipping vessel that was wrecked off its shore. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Port Blair
After breakfast, sightseeing around Port Blair, visit the National Memorial, Cellular Jail and Chatham Saw Mill, one of the oldest and largest in Asia, established by the British in 1836. The Anthropological Museum sheds light on the islands’ tribal inhabitants, The Fisheries Museum displays hundreds of species of unusual fish, corals, and shells; Samudrika Naval Marine Museum has a superb display of marine life; and Sagarika offers cottage industries products for shopping.
After lunch, visit Chidiya Tapu, the southernmost tip of South Andaman, approximately 31 km from Port Blair. Generally known as the Bird Island, it is covered with lush green mangroves and has a beautiful beach with breathtaking sunset views – all of which creates a mesmerising sight. Optional activities – swimming, trekking, and picnics. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4 Transfer to airport
After breakfast, transfer to airport.
