Duration: 9 Days

Trip Grade: two star

A Join-in Departure for Wangdi and Thimphu Tsechu Festival 2019 gives individual visitors opportunity to see both Wangdi and Thimphu Tsechu festivals. Tsechus are among the oldest of the Bhutan festivals marked by traditional rituals, masked dances and unfolding of the Sacred "Throngdrul" a giant painting depicting the life of Lord Buddha.

In the calendar of festivals; there are only 2 Tsechus that occur at one time - Wangdi and Thimphu Tsechu.  Wangdi though smaller is in a valley away from urban center drawing more rural pilgrims which lends a touch of authenticity and local flavours.  At Wangdi Tsechu one can witness unfolding of "Throngdrul" a giant depiction of the Buddha's life story. Highlights of the trip are visit to Thimphu Tsechu with its distinctive rituals and a visit to Gangtey valley.
