Around 400 to 500 ancient Jain Buddhist idols have been found on 03 April 2016 in Etawah District of Bihar state, India. It was a chance find by a tractor driver ploughing the field of local farmer Matadeen Rajput. Majority of the find are Jain deities besides Lord Buddha in various "mudras". These are believed to be 1,200 years old.
The idols carved on black, red and white stones are 2 feet to 3 feet high. Semi precious stones are used as ornaments, household objects and ritualistic objects were also found. Interestingly two statues of Lord Mahavir in black stones in "dhyan mudra" was also found.
