Druk Path Trek

Duration: 10 Days

Trip Grade: three star

Join-in Departure Druk Path trek 10 Days though short  has some of the most beautifull terrains, stunning views of the Bhutan Himalayas, glacial lakes, forests of pine and oak, alpine meadows which add to the experience of this walk. In Spring March – May it is a veritable nature's delight with the blooms of dwarf rhododendrons, primlas, blue poppy the national flower and other high altitude flowers. In June and July, one can see the rare Rheum flower which looks like elongated cabbage.

The trek is rated as "moderately challenging" due to its altitude gain in a short span of a few days. Camp sites are chosen to offer the best location in views, besides pristine lakes and passes with good views of snow-capped mountains.

The trek is combined with cultural days in Paro and Thimphu making it a good mix of adventure and comfort. On clear days good views of Mount Jumolhari are to be seen; a sacred mountain for the Bhutanese.

Arrive at Paro international airport, Bhutan.  Transfer to hotel to refresh and check-in.  Meet and orient with Trek Guide for a briefing on the next days schedule.  To get acclimatized there will be a short tour to Kyichu Lhagang one of the sacred sites for a glimpse of Buddhism practices and a walk in Paro town.

Take an early hike to Taktsang “Tiger’s Nest” monastery built by Guru Rimpoche as legends have it who flew on the back of mythical tigress.  This incredible structure seems to float on clouds amidst the craggy sides of a hill.  Option to walk to the top or enjoy views from a mid way point to take in the sublime views.

Ta Dzong National Museum and then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong which has a long and fascinating history from where you can walk further down to a traditional cantilever bridge.
