Explore Nepal tour spends time in Kathmandu with a short trek in the Pokhara Annapurna, an overnight rafting trip and three day in the Chitwan National Park. A combination to include all the highlights in the country.
Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Kathmandu. Traditional garland welcome, assist and transfer to hotel of choice.
Day 2 Full day tour Durbar Palace Square , Kumari Living Goddess and Swayambhunath stupa. Historic Durbar Square was the seats of Gurkha Kings a UNESCO protected World Heritage site; it is also home of Kumari the Living Goddess, Swayambhunath stupa the mythological meditation site of deity Manjushree overlooking Kathmandu Valley, it has a series of monastic complex with views overlooking the city. ce of the Living Goddess, Kathmandu Durbar Palace Square, Swayambhunath stupa, the ancient city of Patan.
Day 3 Transfer to domestic airport for domestic flight 25mins to the lakeside city of Pokhara. Or travel by vehicle to Pokhara, enroute view of villages and landscapes of Nepal. Start the Royal Trek a trail known for its easy pace and splendid views. The first part of the trail is an easy ascent to the ridge top for splending views of the surrounding Mt Annapurna ranges, Fish Tail Peak and the Lamjung Himal. Night stay enjoy tea house home stay lodging.
Day 4 / 5 On the Royal trek with tea house home stay lodging. The next two days is through village and terraced farmlands. This is an undulating trek through an area away from the popular trail and has its own charm of village culture. Look out for birdlife, temple and the organic coffee farms of the area. Apiary or bee keeping is also popular among villagers of the area. Step into an establishment and enjoy some first generation Nepali coffee.
Day 7 Trek ends with a walk down to the main trail and pick up point. Or if you wish to boat acrosss the serene Begnas Lake. Drive to Pokhara and or stay in Begnas lake in one of the fine resorts in the area. Overnight hotel.
Day 8 Drive to the raft put in point on the Seti river, this day rafting has its share of exciting rapids and calm waters with an overnight camp on the beach.
Day 9 / 10 Arrive at the put out point, drive to Chitwan National Park for two nights of wildlife activity and a safari experience unique in Asia. The Chitwan National Park 1200 sq kms is home to endangered species of wildlife that include the one horned Asiatic rhino, tiger, leopard, many small mammals and over 360 migratory and resident species of birds. Enjoy wildlife activity including elephant safari, dugout canoe trip, visit to elephant breeding centre, bird watching and nature walks in the luxury of your Wildlife Resort.
Day 11 Return to Kathmandu by vehicle or flight, rest of day at leisure.
Day 12 Transfer to airport for final departure.
