Duration: 4 Days

Trip Grade: one star

This short tour of 4 day includes all the major heritage sightseeing areas within the Kathmandu valley.  The highlight would be visit of old Palace Durbar Squares, the residence of Kumari Living Goddess, monasteries and squares.

 

Itinerary :

 

Day 1 Arrive Kathmandu, transfer check-in to hotel.

PM tour Kathmandu Durbar Palace Square, Kumari Living Goddess and Swayambhunath stupa. Historic Durbar Square was the seats of Gurkha Kings a UNESCO protected World Heritage site; it is also home of Kumari the Living Goddess, Swayambhunath Buddhist stupa the mythological meditation site of deity Manjushree overlooking Kathmandu Valley, it has a series of monastic complex with views overlooking the city

 

Day 2 : OPTION MOUNT EVEREST FLIGHTSEEING – 6.30am take a 1hr fascinating tour of the Himalayas by air pressurized including the world’s highest peak Mt Everest 8848metres.  Return to hotel for breakfast and continue touring for the day.

AM Visit Bhaktapur a UNESCO protected World Heritage site a medieval town shaped like a conch shell with an area of 6 sq kms, a living museum with some of the valley’s finest art and architecture.  Founded in AD 889 by King Anand Malla, its has many palace squares with exquisite artwork in wood and bricks. Visit the clay potter square and painters at work.

 

PM continue visit Bodhnath stupa the largest Buddhist shrine. Many monasteries surrounding this holy place and pilgrims go around to gain merit chanting prayers and rotating worry beads. Bodhnath is also a UNESCO protected Heritage site and is famed for its unique “teardrop shape”.  

 

 

Day 3 : 

 

AM sightseeing of the ancient city Patan renowned for its many squares built by the Malla Kings and master craftsmans.  This is a UNESCO protected Heritage site. Visit the Golden Temple , Patan Palace Square , Museum, stupa of the Thousand Buddhas.  Tibetan Welfare centre for hand weaving carpet displays. 

 

 

PM Free at leisure or for shopping or relaxing in the many restaurants and eateries in Kathmandu. 

Optional traditional Nepali Dinner & Cultural Performance evening. 

 

Day  4 Departure.

Transfer to airport for departure flight!
