Days 1-2: Kumarakom Arrival in Cochin transfer to your hotel in Kumarakom for two nights. Enjoy two days with activity options. Choose and book a massage at the Ayurvedic centre, wander through the butterfly garden, go bird-watching or join a yoga class. Or if you prefer choose to book an excursion to Philipkutty’s Farm, a charming family-run homestay on a private island to enjoy a home-cooked lunch.
Day 3: Kumarakom to Kerala Houseboat The following day board a traditional houseboat for an overnight cruise on the backwaters. These private one, two or three bedroom houseboat of your choosing will have air-conditioned (usually from 9pm to 7am) en suite bedrooms and a small friendly crew who will prepare your meals. Pass through verdant rice fields and weave through tiny villages as you observe the comings and goings of this scenic place and its charming people.
Day 4: Kerala Houseboat to Cochin Time to say “goodbye” to your crew, disembark and return to Cochin for one night. Enjoy an afternoon city tour with tours to the Dutch Palace and Jewish Synagogue.
Day 5: Cochin Today concludes your south India Kerala adventure. Transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
