Mardi Himal

Trip Grade: 
The Mardi Himal trek in the Annapurna Himalayas is an excellent walk and new route that take trekkers up close to giant peaks including the iconic Fish Tail Peak within a very short span of time. Views on this trail are excellent as are the cultures. For visitors with limited time, this trek is highly recommended for its trekking experience.
Day 01 : Arrive Kathmandu 1330m.
On arrival transfer to hotel for check-in, enjoy sightseeing this fascinating city and prepare for the next day.
Day 02 : Fly to Pokhara, drive to Phedi, trek to Potana 1950m.
Fly westwards from Kathmandu to the scenic lakeside city of Pokhara. Drive to Dhampus and trek to Potana a small village with beautifull views of the Annapurna Himalayas, approximately 2hrs walk.
Day 03 : Trek to Forest Camp (Kokar) 2600m.
Enjoy the sunrise and start the trek with a steep uphill climb through forest with views of Annapurna South and Hiuchuli ranges. The ridge walk is along the Gorujure Danda. Lookout for birds and animals on this trail. After approximately 5hrs, reach the Forest Camp to spend night in a Lodge.
Day 04: Trek to High Camp (Kew) 36000m.
The trail from here to the High Camp follows a steep ascent through rhododendron and juniper forests. The trail gets steeper until over a hillock, followed by a relatively flat trail for a while and before another ascent. On reaching the ridge top, there are excellent panoramic views of the Annapurna ranges. The ridge walk is known as Majh Danda, approximately 6hrs walk. Overnight in a Lodge.
Day 05: Trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp 4500m, stay at High Camp.
Early wake up to enjoy another spectacular sunrise view over the Annapurna Himalayas. Trail continues with an ascent to Mardi Himal Base Camp with sparse vegetation along a narrow ridge known as Nangge Danda meaning naked ridge. The trek is challenging with a walk along a narrow, rocky ridge trail. Footwear with a rugged sole for best grip and balance is essential on this trail.
Walkers are rewarded with stunning mountain views in pristine surroundings at Mardi Himal Base Camp. With 14 high peaks seemingly within touching distance, take in the beauty of the surroundings and retrace our steps to High Camp. Total walk for the day approximately 6.5hrs. Overnight in a Lodge.
Day 06: Trek to Sidhing Village 1700m.
Trek today is a retrace of the walk up and follows a steep descent to Low Camp from where the trail leads East into a forest and Mardi Khola river valley. After a pleasant walk along the river bank and forest, arrive at charming Sidhing village after approximately 6.5hrs walk. Overnight at a Lodge.
Day 07: Trek to Saiti Ghatta 1300m and drive to Pokhara.
It is an easy descent following the downward course of Mardi river valley to gradually descends through pastures passing beautiful Tamang and Gurung villages to arrive at Saiti Ghatta the end of the trail . Transfer to Pokhara approximately 1.5hrs drive. Overnight at Pokhara, Phewa lakeside.
Day 08: Fly Pokhara to Kathmandu.
Transfer to Pokhara airport to take the 30mins flight to Kathmandu, enjoy rest of the day at leisure or souvenir shopping!
Day 09 : Departure
Transfer to airport for home ward flight!
