Day Hikes in Tibet are for those who enjoy walking in addition to touring. This is available in almost all the cities and towns in Tibet. Local inhabitants enjoy the Kora or circumambulation around holy sites. Devout pilgrims prostrate their full body lenght on the ground as they circle these holy sites.
With the areas of monasteries and shrines be enormously large, hiking is a real treat as one gets to walk together with the locals. From senior citizens to younger generation, all take the Kora seriously as they believe in accumulating merit in their lives. Easy "koras" are at the base of monasteries while for the more hardy hikers trails are often just below ridge tops.
If you enjoy such cultural immersion walks, please request these with your booking.
