Day 1

Arrival Shanghai
Arrive in Shanghai, the bustling economic heartbeat of China, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Free at leisure for the rest of the day. Hotel.
 

Day 2

Shanghai 

 

Take a tour to the ancient city of Zhengzhou also known as "little Venice of the East".  Enjoy this medieval river town, visiting its well appointed homes of the gentry.  Take a boat ride in traditional oarsboat usually handled by women of this town.  Return to Shanghai.  After the tour, have a walk along the Bund, the showcase with the old buildings of colonial-era leftover along Huangpu River. If you are upto it, option to enjoy the breathtaking Acrobatic Show as your night entertainment.  Hotel.

 

 

Day 3

Flight Shanghai  - Xian 
Transfer to the airport for flight to Xian. On arrival, be met at the airport then transferred to the hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, take a walk in the interesting old city quarters enjoying the street vendors and street food.

Day 4

Xian 
Today, take time and enjoy the visits to the Terracotta Warriors, one of the world most important archaeological finds, with troops, horses and carriages in battle formation and then to see the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and the massive Xian City Wall. In the evening, option for Tang Dynasty Show with dinner is available for your optional night activity.

Day 5

Flight Xian  -  Dunhuang
Enjoy leisure time in the morning transfer to the airport for early afternoon flight to Dunhuang.

Day 6

Dunhuang 
Today, visit the Magao Grottoes, considered to be the great treasure house of Buddhist arts in existence. Followed by visit to Crescent Spring and Singing Sand Dune.

Day 7

Transfer Dunhuang  - Liuyuan + Overnight train to  Turpan
Take a short excursion to less-visited but worthy Yumenguan Pass. Continue with a drive of 2hr to Liuyuan train station for the overnight train to Turpan.

Day 8

Turpan 
Upon arrival, transfer to hotel, refresh and visit Gaochang Ancient City, a former important garrison town on the Silk Road, Grape Valley, Flaming Mountain and Bezeklik Caves.

Day 9

Transfer Turpan - Urumqi (200km, about 2 - 2.5 hours driving)
Visit the mysterious death city- the Ruins of Jiaohe Ancient City which reveals traces of a prosperous ancient trading center and military stronghold 1,600 years ago. Then, continue visit to Emin Minaret (Sugong Pagoda)-the biggest ancient pagoda existing in Xinjiang and the only Islamic ancient pagoda in the country and ancient Karez Well, the underground water supply and irrigation system. Transfer to Urumqi after tour.

Day 10

Urumqi
Transfer 120km northeast to the holy Heavenly Lake (Tianchi). The beautiful lake is flanked by rugged pines and cypresses, with clear melting waters reflecting the surrounding snow capped mount Bogeda. After the tour,  transfer back to downtown. Take a short visit to Erdaoqiao Grand Bazar believed to be the largest outdoor market in town.

Day 11

Flight Urumqi  -  Beijing 
Morning flight to Beijing, rest and freshen up, enjoy a leisurely walk in Hutong Tour by rickshaw, to visit the ancient lanes and alley ways of the city for a first impression.

Day 12

Beijing
Morning visit Tian'anmen Square, the World largest urban square and the Forbidden City, the largest and most complete ancient imperial palace in the world. Then visit the Temple of Heaven in the afternoon.  Take in Art District 798 a most fascinating exhibition area full of art gallieres, workshops and view artists at work.  Some of the best artists exhibit their works in surreal setting which was once a factory area right in the heart of this ancient city.  Evening option, enjoy the Peking Opera tonight.

Day 13

Beijing 
The star attraction of China is its Great Wall, a massive defensive structure built to keep intruders from entering the mainland. You will have the opportunity to traverse the ancient steps of Badaling Great Wall. Then drive back to the city for Summer Palace; option to enjoy the famous mouth water "Peking Roast Duck" dinner!

Day 14

Departure Beijing
Free at leisure until transfer to the airport for departure flight.
