SAFGR South Asian Fellowship of Golfing Rotarians invites you to the golfing retreat in Kathmandu from 03 to 06 June 2022 to enjoy the mystical & charming city of beautifull views, people and splendid hospitality.

Rtn Parag Sheth, President, SAFGR and Rtn Purna Man Sakya, Event Chair SAFGR Nepal Chapter invite you all to participate to enjoy one of South Asia’s finest spectacular golf courses.

The Gokarna Forest Golf Course will be the venue for a 2 days feast for golfers stunningly set within 470 acres of the centuries old Gokarna Forest Reserve and is an oasis for golfers from around the world. Spread over 140 acres at 4,550 ft. above sea level, the 6,755-yard par 72 course boasts of the only bent grass greens on an 18-hole course in South and South East Asia.

The resort prides itself on its natural features such as soft cushions of local Bermuda fairways, lush green forests, winding streams, meandering hills and valleys opening to a holy river’s plain, all set against the backdrop of the majestic Himalayan mountain range. Moreover, golfers are always accompanied by monkeys watching the game progress with shy spotted deers peering from the trees. The Club House is set overlooking the verdant and gentle course amidst rolling hills and forested freeways.

The Gokarna Forest Resort is a premier property with all facilities catering to the most discerning clientle; from fine dining The Durbar Restaurant, 8848mtr Bar, Club House; a unique indoor Swimming pool, Spa and Health Club.

Non-Rotarians allowed in case slots available.

Travel Protocol for Foreigners to Nepal

Kindly ensure you have your fully vaccinated cards available in case required. Visitors from India can travel with a valid Passport or Voters ID or Aadhar card issued by Government of India. No visas are required for Indian citizens to visit Nepal. Others require to obtain visas from the Nepal Embassies located in their respective countries. A check with your travelling airline for latest updates is recommended.

• Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport and check-in to hotel of choice.

• 6 pm pick-up from respective hotels and drop to Rtn. Purna Man Sakya's Gokarna residence for fellowship dinner and musical entertainment hosted by him. Purna’s residence is walking distance from Gokarna Resort.

• Drop to hotels.

4th June, Saturday

•8:30am breakfast at respective hotels.

•9.00 am GOLFERS & NON GOLFERS : pick-up for half day tour to Pashupati temple and ancient city of Bhaktapur.

• 11:30am GOLFERS : will leave Bhaktapur for Gokarna Forest Resort for a practice round.

• 12:30pm lunch at Gokarna Golf Course Club House. 

• 1:00pm Tee Off practice round.  Green & Caddie fees (INR 3,875) can be paid directly at the Pro Shop via credit cards.

• 6.00pm drop to hotels.

• 1:00pm: NON GOLFERS will lunch at Bhaktapur.

• 2:30pm: Drop to hotels.

5th June, Sunday

• 7:00 am breakfast at respective hotels.

• 7:45 am pick-up and drop at Gokarna Forest Resort for tournament.

• 8:30 am Tee Off.        

• 1:30 pm Gala Lunch at Gokarna Golf Course Club House.

• 2:30 pm Prize Distribution.

NON GOLFERS:

• 7:00am – 9.00am breakfast at respective hotels.

• 9:00am tour to historic Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhu Stupa a landmark of the city.

• 12:30 pm pick-up & transfer to Gokarna Forest Resort.

Pre and Post Tours : extensions are available to Pokhara the lakeside city west of Kathmandu with its beautifull Himalayan views, Chitwan National Park south west of Kathmandu with its wildlife and birdlife or the close by mountains resorts of Nagarkot and Dhulikhel.
